Tale as old as time. You meet someone, you click, you think “oh my god this person’s my soulmate this is the one!”. You start spending your days maladaptive daydream about your future together. It’s all playing so well in your head, like one of those old Hollywood romance films! You talk some more, maybe go on a few more dates. You talk your best friend’s ear off about how incredibly compatible the two of you are. And then everything just kind of, fizzles.

Damn it, you think. This is what I get for telling people about it. You know what they say, as soon you start telling people about some great person you’re seeing it’s over. But really, deep down, you know it doesn’t have anything to do with that. This Big Romance was just something you made larger than life through the power of imagination, and soon enough you’ll meet another “soulmate” you claim must be the one. And so it goes.
